WARRINGTON & VALE ROYAL COLLEGE
Warrington & Vale Royal College appointed John Turner Construction to design and build its new Construction and Civil Engineering Academy, part of Warrington’s Town Deal initiative. This innovative facility will equip students with vital skills in construction, civil engineering and green technology, to meet local workforce needs.
Built as a single-storey structure with workshop areas and classrooms, the academy prioritises hands-on learning and flexible spaces that support collaboration between students, lecturers and industry professionals. The Green Technology Hub within the academy focuses on teaching sustainable practices across the construction, digital and engineering sectors.
Features include a redesigned vehicular access to improve campus safety, PV panels for sustainable energy along with washrooms and welfare areas for enhanced student comfort. Our team ensured that construction progressed smoothly around key college dates, such as open days and GCSE examinations, with minimal disruption to daily activities. Careful planning and scheduling allowed college operations to continue uninterrupted. Strict safety measures, including clear segregation of construction areas, were implemented to protect students, staff and visitors throughout the project.
This project reflects the college’s commitment to sustainable, skills-focused education, ready to bolster Warrington’s economic resilience and create lasting benefits for students, industry and the broader community.
