John Turner Construction is pleased to announce our appointment as main contractor for a significant new extension at Didsbury High School in South Manchester. The project has been commissioned by the Laurus Trust to meet the needs of the school’s growing student population.
This development will see the construction of a second-storey extension to the south façade of the existing school building. Supported by external columns, the new structure will include two new classrooms, a fully equipped IT suite and a dedicated staff office. The extension will be accessed via a newly created internal doorway, integrating with the existing school layout. The new spaces are designed to offer modern, high-quality learning environments that support the school’s commitment to exceptional academic achievement.
Didsbury High School, operated by the Laurus Trust, is a non-selective, non-denominational secondary free school. Since opening in 2019, it has built a strong reputation for excellence, achieving an ‘Outstanding’ rating in all areas in its first Ofsted inspection in 2023.
The new extension will ensure the school continues to have the modern, high-quality facilities needed to deliver an exceptional education as its student population grows.
