Royal Preston Hospital
The Royal Preston Hospital is the region’s Vascular Centre and with the need to expand its services, appointed John Turner Construction to fully refurbish the Interventional Radiology facility (IR9).
Interventional radiology is a medical specialisation that involves performing a range of minimally invasive procedures under imaging guidance to treat and diagnose a variety of diseases throughout the body. This method of radiology means less risk, less pain and less recovery time for patients.
The project involved the full refurbishment of the IR suite, providing new ventilation, electrical installation and ultra-clean finishes along with X-ray, ultrasound and multi-axis imaging equipment.
Working within a major hospital and the constraints of an existing structure required close liaison with the Hospital’s key stakeholders and the design team.
