John Turner Construction awarded Buile Hill Mansion restoration project

The historic, Grade II listed Buile Hill Mansion in Salford will be restored and refurbished to provide offices for Salford City Council’s registry services in addition to community space that will include a café bar, wedding venue and function suite.

Disabled access ramps will be installed along with a new lift and an external enclosed staircase, making Buile Hill Mansion accessible to all the residents and communities of Salford. This historic building will be a fitting place for people to register births, marriages, and deaths and provide a unique venue for weddings, civil partnerships, renewing vows, baby naming and associated celebrations.

Buile Hill Mansion was built in 1825 for Thomas Potter, the first elected Mayor of Manchester and is set in the grounds of Buile Hill Park, a Grade II listed public park.
