UK Headquarters, Widnes
This project, for LPW Technology, comprised the creation of its prestigious new UK headquarters by fitting out a new, 90,000 sq ft, three-storey building to provide offices, laboratory space and an ultra-clean, advanced metal powder manufacturing facility at Venture Fields Industrial Park, Widnes.
A welcoming, spacious reception area features a central amphitheatre-style staircase, opening up to meeting rooms. Client presentation space on the ground floor extends through into the warehouse to provide specialist laboratory spaces and staff break-out areas.
The new headquarter building also provides 42,500 sq ft of warehousing incorporating a variety of powder production equipment referred to as atomisers, which melt feedstock at approximately 1700ºC. The molten metal is then converted into fine-grade metal powder used to 3D-print parts for critical applications in the aerospace, transportation and biomedical industries.
The 18,000 sq ft of high specification, cutting edge offices on the top two floors are fitted out as open plan spaces, with glazed screens to create cell pods. Features include decorative mesh aluminium ceiling panels and privacy screens, metal framed partitions with acoustic laminated glazed walls, felt acoustic wall coverings, protected hot rolled steel panels and polished concrete wall coverings.
We worked closely with several specialist subcontractors, to create and install unique handmade furniture and fittings. Additionally, our joinery workshop manufactured a large feature staircase and a bespoke viewing tunnel with internally illuminated walls and timber features.
