Posted on June 28th, 2019
Building work has started on Wigan & Leigh College’s Centre of Excellence in Engineering and Construction at the Pagefield campus.
In response to a significant growth in student numbers, the extended three storey Centre of Excellence will provide specialist accommodation for degree apprentices and higher education students.
Benefitting from the works, students will experience real life working environments together with a new additive manufacturing laboratory, an extension to the refectory and Social Learning Hub, thermo-fluid and materials processing labs along with new plumbing, brickwork, plastering and painting/decorating workshops.
Appointed as the main contractor, John Turner Construction is working with SDA Consulting as Employers Agent and Quantity Surveyor along with Seven Architecture who designed the scheme.
