Local sporting stars were recognised at Preston Sports Awards on Friday 23rd March 2018 at Preston Guild Hall.

John Turner Construction supports Preston Sports Awards throughout the year and has sponsored the Lifetime Achievement Award for the 13th consecutive year.

The calibre of the nominees was highlighted on the night with seventeen awards presented to dedicated and committed sporting individuals. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognises a local sporting star for their contribution to sports across Preston for over 20 years.

Opened by a spectacular display from pupils at St Mary and St Andrew’s Primary School in Barton who won Preston’s Primary Schools’ dance festival, the evening was hosted by Granada TV’s Paul Crone. Guest of honour, Lutalo Mohammed, who is the most successful male in British taekwondo history and has won bronze, silver and gold medals in the Olympics, gave an inspirational speech about his sporting journey.

Marilyn Gregson was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her dedication, enthusiasm and involvement in disability sport through her voluntary role at Preston Panthers Disability Club.
