John Turner Construction is progressing on site with the design and build of the new Digital Innovation Facility (DIF), awarded by the University of Liverpool via the Construction Impact Framework.

The new flagship building comprises a 1,520m2 three storey Centre of Excellence specialising in simulation and virtual reality. Located on the site of the former Jones and Muspratt Buildings, the new dynamic facility will promote engineering as a profession to the younger generation bringing together research and development in computer science and robotics.

Designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent, DIF has been developed to provide a modern contemporary building, topped by a parapet wall and with deep recessed balconies at both ends of the facility. The first and second floors will feature double height glazed windows that will showcase internal activities with views through the atrium.

Since starting this 56 week project, we are nearing completion of the complex foundation and basement works. The superstructure stage will commence soon with the arrival of our tower crane.
