This week marks the unveiling of the revamped Printworks, a prominent leisure destination in Manchester, following an extensive multi-million pound refurbishment project.
John Turner Construction were Principal Contractor during this substantial refurbishment project, working on behalf of DTZ Investors. At the heart of the transformation lies a colossal 1,000m² digital ceiling screen, now the largest in Europe, spanning the internal streets of the complex. This cutting-edge feature grants unprecedented control over the audio-visual atmosphere, showcasing bespoke creative content and mesmerising special effects. Complementing this spectacle is a mammoth interactive gaming screen and various other new elements strategically placed throughout Printworks, all designed to captivate patrons and bolster tenant activity.
The building, a non-designated heritage asset, has undergone significant enhancements, including the installation of specialist glass cladding on interior walls to elevate the immersive ambiance. Additionally, the introduction of gateway entrances and substantial improvements to the public realm and external façade further enhance the overall experience. Notably, Printworks remained operational throughout the entirety of the refurbishment process, ensuring continuity for its visitors and tenants.
