Ainscough Cranes, Leyland

Client: Ainscough Group

Value: £4.1m

The new build of Ainscough Crane Hire Depot comprised three elements including a workshop facility for crane maintenance, a training school building and an extensive external hard standing for crane storage, crane training and car parking.

The workshop building was steel framed on piled foundations with elevations and the roof in grey composite cladding. The facility included specialist pits services and drainage associated with the nature of the building. The workshop also included an area for offices, administration, toilet and changing facilities.

The training school was a single storey traditionally built facility including concrete strip foundations, masonry walls, timber roof trusses and tiled roof covering. Accommodation included classrooms, offices, WC facilities and circulation areas. Services installations included IT linked to the main office accommodation and the building utilised an underfloor heating installation.

Externally, extensive reinforced concrete hard standing areas were provided with heavy duty Aco drainage linked to interceptors for crane parking and maintenance.

In addition to the above, normal car parking was also provided and the whole site was enclosed with new security fencing.
