John Turner Construction has successfully completed a major expansion of the Burnley College University Courses building, delivering a three-storey extension built on top of the existing single-storey structure. This impressive addition provides over 1,900 square meters of advanced learning space, designed to inspire and empower students.

This expansion includes: dedicated science laboratories, an Immersive Technology Igloo, robotics and automation classrooms, a cyber-security suite, a dedicated Employability Hub, expanded psychology, counselling and medical biology facilities, as well as a large, modern lecture theatre.

The extension utilises the original building’s innovative foundations, which were designed to support future vertical growth. This enhanced space accommodates a diverse range of degree-level and professional courses, catering to ambitious learners advancing their careers and passionate individuals exploring new fields. With capacity for an additional 500 students, the expansion fosters innovation and collaboration in cutting-edge learning environments.

The visually striking building now features expansive glazed areas, offering panoramic views of the campus and the scenic Ribble Valley. A signature lecture theatre on the top floor serves as a focal point for students and visitors alike.
