This design and build project involved the conversion of an 1860s built Grade II Listed country house into a top-of-the-range conference centre. Extensive ecological surveys and investigations were undertaken before the works could commence.
The works comprised a full refurbishment and extension of the building including the redesign of electrical and mechanical services installation.
Within the building footprint was a 1960s constructed nuclear bunker which was remodelled and central columns removed to form a 300-seat banqueting suite.
A feature outdoor space was provided with extensive timber decking, a tensile canopy and landscaping.
Comprehensive data installations were included such as wireless network throughout the building together with CCTV.
The external refurbishment included stone repair, lead roof repair, stained glass roof light and masonry cleaning.
Performance Beyond Compliance was awarded by Considerate Constructors and a score of 33 out of 40 was achieved.
