Windermere Science Building at Runshaw College

John Turner Construction has been appointed as design and build contractor for the new Windermere Science Building at Runshaw College.

The scheme involves demolishing the existing single-storey Dalehead building. In its place, a new two-storey science building will be constructed. The project is supported by a Central Government FE College Condition Grant Allocation.

Windermere will provide 11 industry-leading science laboratories. It will also include an ICT classroom, two preparation rooms, staff facilities, toilets and a collaborative learning space. The ground floor will house five science labs, a staff room, preparation rooms and a social learning area. The first floor will feature six labs, an ICT classroom and a meeting room.

The building will accommodate two year groups of Post 16 and T-Level students. It will also support 28 teaching staff.

Beyond outstanding teaching facilities, Windermere will play a key role in Runshaw College’s journey to Net Zero.

John Turner Construction is proud to be delivering this landmark scheme for Runshaw College.

We look forward to working closely with the college to bring forward a state-of-the-art facility for future generations of science and T-Level students.
