A physiotherapy clinic recently occupied this site. Works will change its use, so it can also house a new GP surgery.
A single-storey extension is being added to the rear of the building. This will create extra space for consulting rooms and a shared reception area. The GP surgery will occupy the ground floor and the physiotherapy clinic will remain on the first floor. Both services will share one treatment room on the ground floor, giving flexibility for physiotherapy patients who need step-free access.
Internally, the building is being reorganised to suit both services. New consulting rooms, a utility room and accessible facilities are being added on the ground floor. The layout has been designed to help the GP and physiotherapy teams work together smoothly, while giving each service its own clear identity.
Externally, the car park is being reconfigured to provide dedicated parking for staff and patients, including accessible spaces. A new bin store and improved landscaping are also part of the scheme. A green roof is being introduced over part of the extension, supporting biodiversity net gain on the site.
Once complete, the project will bring GP and physiotherapy services together under one roof.
This will make it easier for patients in Willaston to access joined-up healthcare, closer to home.
